HELL'S KITCHEN — Ultra-cheap gym Planet Fitness opened a new location on West 55th Street this week, bringing the low-cost, casual workout chain to the West Side.

The new spot at 423 W. 55th St. is open 24 hours a day from Monday to Friday, and from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on weekends.

The West Side spot is one of several new Planet Fitness locations in Manhattan. The chain plans to open gyms at 26 Broadway in the Financial District and at West 157th Street and Broadway in Washington Heights in the coming months. It also opened a location in The Bronx earlier this month.

The new spot has a bevy of the chain's trademark purple-hued equipment, including treadmills, exercise bikes, free weights and more.

The Hell's Kitchen location is currently offering discounted memberships for early adopters: Members who sign up before July 17 will pay only $10 a month to use the spot, rather than the usual $20 a month.

For an extra $10 a month, fitness buffs can opt into the "Black Card" membership, which includes unlimited use of all Planet Fitness locations, along with free tanning and use of the gym's massage chairs.

The gym also offers free pizza to members on the first Monday of every month.

Billing itself as a "Judgment Free Zone," Planet Fitness aims to be a spot for casual exercisers to avoid the "hardcore" attitude of other gyms, though it's alienated more intense exercisers with its "lunk alarm," which sounds when weightlifters shout or drop weights.
