Park Slope Preschool to Open in New Condo Building

PARK SLOPE — A new condo building on Union Street will soon be home to an arts-focused preschool.

The school, called Mozarts and Einsteins, is slated to open this summer on the ground floor of Park Union, a 15-unit condo building at 910 Union St. between Eighth Avenue and Prospect Park West.

The school will serve students ages 2 to 6 and will begin accepting applications in February, according to a statement from American Development Group, the developer behind Park Union.

ADG described Mozarts and Einsteins as an "an innovative preschool with a strong emphasis on the arts for children." The curriculum includes music and dance, including tap, jazz and ballet, as well as reading and writing, math, science, computers, and Spanish, according to ADG.

"We are looking forward to the opportunity to serve the community and believe our programming and curriculum will appeal to local families," said Melody Stevens, founder of Mozarts and Einsteins, in a statement. Stevens also founded two music schools in New Jersey, according to ADG.

Mozarts and Einsteins signed a 10-year lease for the 6,200 square-feet retail space on the ground floor of the Park Union building.

"Park Union is located in the highly regarded [P.S.] 321 school district and the preschool will provide a much-needed specialized and creative option for parents and growing families in the community," said Perry Finkelman, CEO of ADG, in a statement.

Of the 15 apartments at Park Union, 11 are three-bedroom, two are two-bedroom, and two are one-bedroom. Asking prices range from $799,000 to $2,295,000. Sizes range from 735 to 1,905 square feet.

The blog Brownstoner recently highlighted the building's ample storage and closet space, and its "great views" from the rooftop terrace.
