
PROSPECT HEIGHTS — A Brooklyn man arrested for a 2010 homicide escaped from a police precinct early Thursday, according to the NYPD.
Brandon Santana, 24, got into a scuffle with officers inside of the 78th Precinct stationhouse, near Flatbush Avenue, and fled about 2 a.m., cops said.
Santana had been taken into custody Wednesday for allegedly killing Alexander Santiago, 22, on August 1 last year, police said.
A police officer was hurt in Thursday morning's escape, police said. The injured cop was taken to New York Methodist Hospital in Brooklyn, where he was treated for minor injuries, police said.
Santana, who lives on 29th Street near Fourth Avenue, is about 5-feet-11-inches tall, weighs about 200 pounds, and has short black hair, a goatee, and brown eyes, according to police. He was last seen wearing a brown hooded jacket, blue jeans and white sneakers, police said.
