LOWER EAST SIDE — Cops are searching for a suspect who allegedly tried to rob an elderly man at gunpoint in the elevator of a Lower East Side building last month.

The suspect followed the 73-year-old victim into the elevator at 300 Cherry St. about 7 p.m. Nov. 28, police said.

He then pulled out a black gun and demanded money and the victim's cellphone, but when the victim said he did not have any money, the suspect fled, police said.

Police described the suspect as a 20-to-25-year-old man, 5-foot-11, 160 pounds, last seen wearing a long black hooded coat.
