FLUSHING — Two people were seriously hurt when a taxi flipped over on a ramp leading to the Long Island Expressway in Queens Tuesday afternoon, officials said.

The taxi was rounding a curve on a ramp leading from the northbound Van Wyck Expressway to the westbound Long Island Expressway when it overturned about 1:35 p.m., the FDNY said.

The taxi's driver and passenger were taken to New York Hospital Queens in serious condition, the FDNY said.

The ramp was closed immediately after the crash and traffic began building up on the Van Wyck Expressway.
