HELL'S KITCHEN — The entrance to the Lincoln Tunnel from the New Jersey side is to close at night starting Monday as a major repair project starts, Port Authority officials said.

The helix, the rampway to the tunnel, will close from 10:30 p.m. until 5 a.m. Monday through Friday, and from 11:59 p.m. on Friday until 8 a.m. Saturday, according to the Port Authority.

Officials said that the $88 million project is aimed at repairing some of the aging infrastructure. It includes repaving the road, and repairing the more than 70-year-old concrete deck and the steel underneath.

Traffic will be detoured and delays are expected, the Port Authority said.
