EAST NEW YORK — Two cousins, including a father of a young girl, were shot and killed on Georgia Avenue early Wednesday, the NYPD and relatives said.

Mario Mejia, 28, and Leonardo Saravia, 24, were gunned down in front of Saravia's home at 456 Georgia Ave., near Dumont Avenue, about 12:40 a.m., police said.

Mejia, who lived in Prospect-Lefferts Gardens with his 4-year-old daughter, was shot once in the head and pronounced dead at the scene.

Saravia was shot in the legs and was taken to Brookdale Hospital, where he died, police said.

Officers would not confirm Mejia and Saravia's relationship, but friends and family members said they were cousins.

"My cousin didn't deserve this," said Brian, 27, who declined to give his last name. "He didn't have beefs. He liked to go to the studio to rhyme and rap."

A friend, Lance Derrick, 18, said Saravia "talked about his daughter a lot. That was his little angel."

It's not clear what sparked the bloodshed and no arrests have been made.
