QUEENS — A construction worker fell 12 feet down a hole at JFK Airport on Wednesday, officials said.

According to a Port Authority spokesman, the worker was at taxiway C-D, near the JetBlue hangar, when he tumbled into the hole around 8:45 a.m.

The construction crew was installing a water system to be used for fire suppression, the spokesman said.

The worker was complaining of neck and back pain, the spokesman said, and was taken to Jamaica Hospital for evaluation.
