Pellet Gun Vandalism on Lee Avenue Investigated as Bias Crime
WILLIAMSBURG — The windows of eight cars were damaged in a Tuesday morning vandalism spree that police are investigating as a possible bias crime.
Pellet gun shots were fired at cars on Lee Avenue between Lorimer and Lynch streets at 12:49 a.m., police said.
No one was injured and no property was stolen, police said.
NYPD officials said the crime was under investigation by the hate crimes unit as a possible bias incident.
The shooting — which occurred in a heavily Hasidic area of Williamsburg — came just days after a swastika spree on multiple buildings, including a synagogue, in Borough Park.
