'Catwoman' Burglar Sentenced to Prison After Courtroom Outburst Updated February 1, 2012 5:51pm

MANHATTAN SUPREME COURT — A Queens woman who wore a cat mask disguise to rob Manhattan boutiques shouted she was "not Catwoman" as she was sentenced to 10 years in prison on Wednesday.

Shana Spalding, 29, appeared before Manhattan Supreme Court Justice Richard Carruthers to be sentenced for second-degree robbery and attempted robbery charges. She was found guilty by a Manhattan jury on Dec. 13. 

"I am not Catwoman!" Spalding shouted. She also told news photographers "Stop taking my picture, you bastards!"

Spalding robbed an East Village shop in June 2010 while wearing a cat mask and dark clothing, reminiscent of the famous "Batman" series character.

"Give me your money. I have a gun," she wrote on a note she handed to a clerk when she robbed an Astor Place Arche shoe store, according to court papers.

She also wore a headscarf disguise as she tried to rob a Greene Street boutique, although unsuccessfully. 

Spalding, who has open cases in Queens for similar incidents, performed with a Bronx-based death metal band called "Divine Infamy."
