EAST HARLEM — A person was shot near East 102nd Street and Madison Avenue Friday afternoon, authorities said. 

The victim, whose name and gender were not immediately known, was struck by gunfire about 3:50 p.m. near the intersection, the NYPD said.

The individual was taken to Metropolitan Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, police added.

An investigation is ongoing.
