Man, 73, Hit and Killed by Truck as he Crossed Gramercy Street Updated December 21, 2011 7:01am

GRAMERCY — A 73-year-old man was struck and killed by a truck at the corner for East 22nd Street and Third Avenue on Tuesday, police said.

According to cops, the man was trying to cross eastbound on Third Avenue when he was hit by a truck traveling southbound at approximately 12:00 p.m. The truck's driver stayed on the scene and the victim was taken to Bellevue Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said.

NYPD said they don't suspect any criminality in the case. The investigation is ongoing.
