MANHATTAN SUPREME COURT — A man accused of killing his grandmother and stuffing her corpse into a closet has been charged with murdering a man during a sexual encounter in Brooklyn.
Larry Davis, 22, is charged with killing his 76-year-old grandmother, Cora Davis, inside her Harlem apartment on March 28 after she refused to give him the $175 he was demanding and instead offered him $1.
He then allegedly stuffed her body in the bedroom closet, where it stayed for days before relatives came looking for her and instead found the younger Davis having sex in her bedroom with a prostitute, prosecutors said.
Davis was recently indicted on a second-degree manslaughter charge in connection to his grandmother's death, and could be arraigned in Manhattan Supreme Court Wednesday, defense lawyer Bryan Konoski said.
The indictment comes as Davis was also charged in Brooklyn on a murder dating back to last August, where he allegedly strangled a man to death during rough sex, his lawyer said.
Davis was arrested and charged May 27 with the Aug. 19, 2010, murder of Richard McCoy, according to his criminal complaint.
Davis is being held at Rikers jail without bail in both cases. He is next scheduled to appear in court on the Brooklyn case on Aug. 5.
It is unclear how Davis knew McCoy or how prosecutors linked Davis to the crime.
