MANHATTAN — A Washington Heights security guard said she was verbally abused and roughly handled by police after refusing to leave her post to help control a suspect, the New York Daily News reported.

Anyeris Reyes, 22, alleges that her ankle broke after she was arrested following a confrontation with two plainclothes narcotics officers at the Audobon Avenue apartment complex in Washington Heights on March 19, according to the paper.

The two officers were trying to get a suspect under control, and solicited Reyes' help. But Reyes told them she was not allowed to leave the building while on duty. The officers cursed at her after she wouldn't help them. After the struggle, one of them said to her, "You stupid b--ch, why didn't you help me?" the News reported.

Reyes was arrested five minutes later, according to the report.

As she was being taken away, Reyes told the News that an officer purposefully let her fall to the ground when he said he'd lend her his shoulder to get into the police van. That's when she said she broke her ankle.

After she was thrown in the van, she was forced to watch the police officers strip-search male suspects at the 33rd Precinct, she told the News.

Reyes received a class B misdemeanor ticket for "refusing to aid a peace or a police officer," according to reports, and has a court date scheduled for April 20.

The NYPD and Civil Complaint Review are investigating the allegations, the News reported.
