MANHATTAN SUPREME COURT — A banker charged with using a lacrosse stick to commit a brutal sex attack against his girlfriend will also reportedly face cocaine possession charges.
Hell's Kitchen resident Daniel Brown, 31, was in court Monday to fight for a reduction in bail. His lawyer wanted bail to remain at $50,000 cash but prosecutors asked to boost it to $700,000 in light of the new charges and the brutality of the original allegations, the New York Post reported.
The alleged attack occurred in August but he was arrested on Feb. 7 and charged with attacking the 25-year-old woman with the lacrosse stick at his West 57th Street apartment. She reported it to police after their abusive relationship ended recently, the Post reported.
"This is your punishment. You ruined my Thursday night," he is accused of telling her while the assault unfolded, the criminal complaint says.
Prosecutors reportedly said they did not have medical records to confirm the woman's story but said she reported a history of savage beatings throughout their year-long relationship.
Brown is due back in court Wednesday for a decision on the bail matter.
The Ohio native works at Sovereign Bank making $120,000 annually, the Post reported. He was convicted of domestic violence in that state 10 years ago and has an open drunk driving case in New York, according to the Post.
