MANHATTAN — The high-powered New York Knicks offense put up 125 points against one of the better teams in the Western Conference Wednesday night. Too bad they didn't play any defense.

New York ended a four-game West coast swing with a 2-2 record, dropping the last game in the set to the Utah Jazz, 131-125. The Knicks (22-16) beat the Portland Trail Blazers and Phoenix Suns but were out muscled by the Los Angeles Lakers and out gunned by the Jazz during the road trip.

Foul trouble plagued the Knicks Wednesday with Amar'e Stoudemire and Raymond Felton spent a lot of time on the bench.

"They took advantage of it," Stoudemire, who had 22 points and just 3 rebounds, told the New York Post. "They felt comfortable once we got in foul trouble. We haven't been in such foul trouble all year."

The Knicks fell behind early, but closed to within three in the third quarter before Utah held them off. Seldom-used forward Bill Walker had 20 points in the first half, and sharpshooter Shawne Williams had a season-high 25 for New York off the bench.

"We got down but we fought back," Felton told the Daily News. "I'm satisfied with the way we played but not satisfied with the overall outcome."

The Knicks return home to face the lowly Sacramento Kings Friday at Madison Square Garden.
