Harlem — A man caught in the crossfire during a wild Harlem shootout has sued the NYPD claiming poor police training resulted in his injury.

Larry Garlick was shot during the exchange of bullets and claims police created "mass chaos" by opening fire at a Harlem block party in August, the Daily News reported.

"At no time... did the officers have probable cause for the discharge of their firearms," the suit, filed at Manhattan Supreme Court, said.

The shootout on Lenox Avenue left one man dead and two police officers and two bystanders injured.

It followed an armed scuffle between two men, Luis Soto, 21, and Angel Alvarez.

Soto was killed, while Alvarez survived — despite being shot more than 20 times.

The suit claims the police officers opened fire because their training failed to teach them how to control a crowd.

Garlick, 38, from the Bronx, claims his physical injuries were accompanied by "emotional and psychological distress and horror."
