MANHATTAN SUPREME COURT — A former AOL software engineer was indicted for allegedly stealing secret materials valued in the millions from the company, prosecutors said Tuesday.
Brooklyn resident Gregory Tomlinson, 29, allegedly accessed a computer code that allowed him to make unauthorized changes to AOL's website. He also stored classified information on a USB drive and took it home.
Tonlinson claimed he was just infatuated with the advanced technology.
"The computer code is so powerful, I just wanted to learn from it," he allegedly told a colleague in a cyber-chat.
He was charged with grand larceny and computer tampering, among other charges.
