MANHATTAN CRIMINAL COURT — The stepfather of the woman convicted of murdering "Realtor to the Stars" Linda Stein was arraigned Tuesday on a criminal contempt charge.

Daniel Walsh, 51, was arrested on Monday after an outburst during a pre-sentencing hearing for Lowery. He was held overnight before being released Tuesday.

Lowery has been trying to replace her defense team for months, saying she wants family legal adviser Paul Brenner as her counsel. If she can't have him, she's said she'd rather represent herself.

Walsh's flare-up was in response to Judge Richard Carruthers' latest denial of adding Brenner to the case.

"You railroaded my daughter, my daughter has the right to counsel," Walsh yelled in court, according to the criminal complaint. "This is bull***."

While denying Brenner's appointment to the case, Carruthers called the lawyer "utterly irresponsible" for statements he made to the press about Lowery's trial attorneys.

Even so, Brenner, representing Walsh at his arraignment, was confident he would be representing Lowery following her next scheduled court appearance on Friday.

Carruthers' law clerk would not comment.

Brenner told the arraignment judge that Walsh "got out of hand" and that his client was sorry for losing his temper in Carruthers' courtroom.

"I advised him that I don't want him to be in court if he can't control his emotions," Brenner said.

Lowery is scheduled to be sentenced April 28. Walsh is due back in court May 12.
