MANHATTAN SUPREME COURT — Celebrity real estate broker Linda Stein was bashed in the skull at least 24 times, gruesome autopsy photos showed Tuesday at the trial of her accused killer.

One photo showed three bloody craters on Stein's scalp, which were caused by a forceful assault with a blunt object, an official with the city's medical examiner's office testified.

Natavia Lowery, Stein's former personal assistant, is charged with her murder, accused of bludgeoning Stein to death with a yoga stick.

Although Stein was probably paralyzed by the first blow, the killer continued to beat the 62-year-old long after she had gone down, according to news reports.

It is also possible Lowery, the accused killer, fractured Stein's spine by stepping on her back, the New York Post reported on Tuesday's testimony.

"I'd say, being very conservative, a minimum of 24," Michelle Sloane of the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner testified, referring to the number of blows, according to the Daily News.

Sloane confirmed that the killer likely stomped on Stein's spine.
