MANHATTAN — Paul Cortez, a yoga instructor who murdered his stripper ex-girlfriend, Catherine Woods, in her Upper East Side apartment is appealing his conviction. Cortez's new lawyer says evidence at trial had been mishandled, according to the New York Post. [nypost.com]
A 78-year-old woman with more than 70 misdemeanor arrests was issued an arrest warrant by a Manhattan Supreme Court judge. Katherine Kelly was reportedly at the courthouse for a scheduled appearance, but was ill and physically unable to leave her car. [nypost.com]
Michael Cardozo will remain at his post as the city's top legal officer and advisor to the mayor during Mayor Michael Bloomberg's third term.
