Downtown Docket: NYC Newspaper Offices Raided in DA Investigation

MANHATTAN — In joint effort between the NYPD and the District Attorney, the offices of the city's three largest daily newspapers were raided in an apparent effort to crack down on mob control of the Newspaper and Mail Deliverers' Union. [NYtimes.com]

A United States Appeals Court ruled the city did not violate free speech rights when it decided 15 annual Fifth Avenue parades was plenty. Groups seeking their own marches down the famous lane filed lawsuits after the "Fifth Avenue rule" took effect. [NYTimes.com]
