Downtown Docket: New DA and Supreme Court Justice to be Decided in Tuesday's Election

MUNICIPAL DISTRICT — One Manhattan Supreme Court judge seat will be decided in Tuesday's election and Cy Vance, Jr., the unopposed Democratic candidate is the presumed winner of the Manhattan District Attorney race, according to the New York Law Journal. [NewYorkLawJournal.com]

The New York City Bar Association is releasing a report on the civil rights violations believed to be experienced by most of the detainees at the Varick Street Detention Facility, which "takes in 11,000 men a year," according to the New York Times. [NYTimes.com]

Raj Rajaratnam, the New York-based billionaire and hedge fund manager accused by federal authorities of insider trading, was accused of tax fraud and of violating Securities and Exchange Commission laws, the New York Times reported. [NYTimes.com]
