Manhattan - Rapper Lil Wayne is living like a celebrity in Rikers Island.

A jail captain is being investigated for treating the musician - whose real name is Dwayne Carter - like a big shot.

The New York Post reported that Captain Latanya Brown was questioned for spending extra time with the star and letting him skip  the recreation yard to stay in his cell.

The Corrections Department claims to have zero tolerance for officers who give preferential treatment to inmates.

Lil Wayne was sentenced to a year in jail last March after police found a .40-caliber handgun in his possession in a marijuana smoke-filled tour van after a Beacon Theater concert in 2007.
