The vote for the expansion was approved 41 to 1 at Friday's council meeting.

The 616-seat school will be located at Sixth Avenue and Dean Street in Prospect Heights.

The new Riverside Center school will have two grades each and serve K-8 grades, the DOE said.

The most seats are coming to Queens, with the fewest slated for Manhattan and Staten Island.

Some parents who are tired of waiting for new schools want the city to consider adding one on Third Ave.

The projects range from upgrading facilities like auditoriums and boilers to creating rooftop gardens.

Beacon High School's new home on West 43rd Street will open on Aug. 1, 2015, instead of Sept. 1.

The restrooms at P.S. 132 need to be upgraded for health and safety reasons, parents said.

The city now has until the end of 2018 to decide whether NYU's Bleecker St. site should become a school.
