Property tax from 25 Kent Ave. should be used to finance Bushwick Inlet Park, said BP Eric Adams.

Protesters marched through Bushwick waving $100 bills emblazoned with Councilman Rafael Espinal's face.

With a shorter waitlist at P.S. 199, the urgency of the rezoning has lessened, officials said.

Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz Jr. said the proposals do not do enough for low-income New Yorkers.

The plan saved some East Village zoning restrictions put in place in 2008, Councilwoman Mendez says. 

District 15 schools with waitlists include P.S. 39, P.S. 58, P.S. 169 and P.S. 194.

The proposals must now go to borough president Eric Adam's office.

The City Council questioned agency officials Monday on specifics in the plan to rezone the area.

The mixed-use building is the first project proposed under the mayor's rezoning plan.

A nearly 30-acre park was promised to North Brooklyn residents during the 2005 rezoning. 

Borough President Adams says Downtown Brooklyn has become overcrowded due to residential development.

Fortis Property Group may choose to go through the ULURP process, which requires city approval.

The plan passed with a 12-1 vote and will continue to the City Council.
