Drunken Reveler Dies in Fall Outside Brooklyn Heavy Metal Bar, Police Say

By Gwynne Hogan | October 9, 2017 11:31am

WILLIAMSBURG — A drunken reveler died after falling and hitting his head outside a Marcy Avenue heavy metal bar, police said.

Steven Vazquez, 28, of Ridgewood, was found unconscious with a head injury after he stumbled outside Duff's Brooklyn at 168 Marcy Ave. at 7 a.m. Sunday, the NYPD said.

Police believe he was drunk and fell after he was seen leaving the bar, and the incident wasn't considered suspicious, a police spokesman said.

Emergency workers rushed him to Woodhull Medical Center, where he was later pronounced dead, police said.

It wasn't immediately clear how long Vazquez had been on the ground before he was discovered.

The Medical Examiner's office will determine the man's official cause of death. Their office didn't immediately return a request for comment Monday morning.

Workers at the Duff's Brooklyn couldn't immediately be reached for comment Monday morning.
