THE BRONX — Police arrested a man in Massachusetts for sexually assaulting a 12-year-old girl at gunpoint in a Claremont alleyway, NYPD officials said.

The girl had been walking near Weeks Avenue and East 173rd Street about 10:52 a.m. Aug. 13 when Malcolm Lugo, 20, pulled a gun on her and ordered her into a nearby alley, where he assaulted her, police said. She was treated at an area hospital.

Lugo fled the scene and eventually made his way to Springfield, Massachusetts, police said.

He managed to evade authorities until Sept. 26, when police caught him in Springfield, officials said.

He's been charged with predatory sexual assault, performing a criminal sex act and sexual abuse, police said.
