LOWER EAST SIDE — A woman snatched a purse and more than $1,000 in cash from the desk of an employee at a Madison Street nail salon last Friday, police said.

The victim, a 43-year-old woman, placed her bag in a drawer of her desk at Lovely Angel Nail at 219 Madison St. around 6:29 p.m., only to come back roughly 10 minutes later to find the purse missing, police said.

The thief had also made off with a plastic bag containing $1,115 — cash made from the business, according to a police report.

Police the following Tuesday released a wanted poster with photos of a woman they believe is the thief. There were no arrests as of Thursday afternoon.
