LOWER EAST SIDE — Police are looking for an assailant who hurled a metal padlock at a man's face in broad daylight while he waited for the M15 bus on Aug. 24.

The male suspect approached the 19-year-old victim around 3:20 p.m. at the bus stop at Allen and Grand streets and threw the lock at the back of his head, leaving him with a cut that required staples, police said.

Police put out a wanted poster with photos of a suspect in the attack wanted for questioning, described as a male of unknown age standing at 5-foot-10 and weighing 180 pounds.

Other recent crimes in the 7th Precinct include:

The male and female victims, ages 27 and 24, were between Norfolk and Suffolk streets when one of the women approached and said "Put your hands up" while the other pepper-sprayed the male victim and threatened to cut him with a knife, according to a police report.

The first woman then forcibly grabbed the woman's Michael Kors purse, valued at $1,300, knocking her to the ground, police said. Both attackers then fled on foot. The purse contained a passport, social security card, a $200 iPhone, and $800, according to a police report.

The woman was left with scuffed-up knees from her fall and the man had irritated eyes from the pepper spray, police said.

The victim's $25 black purse contained a $75 flip phone, $45, a bank card, social security card, according to a police report.
