CROWN HEIGHTS — Two workers at a newly opened Crown Heights wing restaurant remain hospitalized after becoming unintended victims in a shootout in the eatery's kitchen, its owner said.

The two employees, ages 18 and 28, are being treated for their injuries at Kings County Hospital, but are in stable condition and doing well, according to Brooklyn Wing House co-owner Andre Spaulding.

Spaulding said he was in the kitchen Friday when a man with a gun entered the restaurant about 7:30 p.m. and went after a 33-year-old man standing inside.

“The guy pushed the door, trying to protect himself, then he ran in the back [toward the kitchen]. The guy [with the gun] comes in, running from the front to the back [and] started shooting. Bullets ricocheted and hit the employees. And he escaped,” Spaulding told DNAinfo New York.

Two employees and the 33-year-old man were hit and injured, police said. As of Tuesday afternoon, the gunman has not yet been identified or arrested, they said.

Spaulding was in the kitchen as the shooting occurred, but was not hit.

“I was shocked. I still can’t believe it happened,” he said.

The shooting and investigation closed down the restaurant on Saturday and Sunday, but the Wing House — which had its grand opening less than three weeks ago — was back up and running for dinner on Monday, serving wings, sandwiches, snacks and drinks.

Spaulding, who owns the spot with his friend David Spence, wants patrons to know the shooting “had nothing to do with the business at all.”

“It was a customer issue. I don’t want people to think we’re that type of restaurant where you can’t feel safe,” he said, adding that police officers have patrolled the street outside the shop in the days following the shooting.
