GRAMERCY — A New Jersey man who was run over by an MTA bus after lying down in the middle of Park Avenue last month has died of his injuries, police said Friday.

Oswaldo Arevalo, 30, may have been drunk when he lay down in traffic between East 22nd and East 23nd streets on July 15 just before 5 a.m., police sources said.

He suffered serious head trauma and was taken to Bellevue Hospital, where he died Aug. 17, police said. Officials did not specify how they determined he may have been drunk.

The bus driver did not remain at the scene, but investigators later tracked him down and interviewed him, the NYPD said.

He wasn’t charged, but police said their investigation is still active.
