By Allegra Hobbs | August 11, 2017 12:22pm

KIPS BAY — Police arrested a 41-year-old man trying to sell balloons full of laughing gas at the corner of Lexington Avenue and East 28th Street.

The man was seen at the intersection with an open tank of nitrous oxide, also known as laughing gas, around 3:28 a.m. on Aug. 6, according to the NYPD.

He was planning to pump the gas into balloons and sell them for inhalation, police said.

He was charged with the illegal use and sale of nitrous oxide and given a desk appearance ticket, according to authorities. He is slated to appear in court Oct. 4.
