BROOKLYN — Two people were seriously hurt when a box truck mounted a sidewalk in East Flatbush Thursday morning, FDNY officials said.

The truck hopped a curb near Church and Utica avenues and smashed into a 99-cent store around 11:25 a.m., the FDNY said.

“The truck driver tried to move away because someone was crossing the street,” said witness Mike Ali, 17, who works at a nearby bodega. "He turned the wheel and went right into the 99-cent store. It was really bad.”

The victims were taken to Kings County Hospital in serious condition, according to the FDNY.

It was unclear whether the injured were pedestrians.
