MANHATTAN — A 30-year-old man with several prior arrests was charged with groping an 8-year-old girl in the Lower East Side, police said Wednesday.
Daniel Young attempted to engage the child in conversation in a courtyard on Essex Street near Broome Street on June 3 before touching her groin and then fleeing, according to the NYPD.
Young, who lives on Madison Street in the Lower East Side, had three prior arrests, including for robbery and menacing a police officer in February, an NYPD spokeswoman said.
He was charged with sex abuse and acting in a manner injurious to a child, police said.
Young was expected to be arraigned in Manhattan Criminal Court.
