MIDTOWN EAST — Police are searching for a serial thief they said stole more than $8,000 in Nuxe skin care products from local Duane Reade and CVS stores over a two-month span.
The suspect first went into the Duane Reade at 852 Second Ave., at 46th Street, around 12:30 a.m. on March 3 and grabbed a number of Nuxe items valued at $919 before fleeing in an unknown direction, police said.
Later that day, at 6:30 p.m., the man went into another Duane Reade at 711 Third Ave., at 44th Street, and took $1,701 in Nuxe items before fleeing, police said.
Then, on April 4, he went inside the same Duane Reade at 711 Third Ave. at 7:18 p.m. and took $2,238 of the same brand of products, police said.
Two days after that, the suspect walked into the CVS at 757 Third Ave., at 47th Street, at 6 p.m. and grabbed $389 in Nuxe items before fleeing, according to police.
He struck the same CVS again on April 9 just before 7 p.m., running off with $300 in Nuxe products, police said.
Finally, on April 23, he went into the Duane Reade at 711 Third Ave. he hit twice before and ran off with $2,522 in Nuxe items around 6:30 p.m., police said.
Police described the suspect as between 20 and 30 years old, standing roughly 5-foot-7, with long black hair and a mustache.
Duane Read and CVS did not immediately return requests for comment Thursday.
