MANHATTAN — Police are hunting for a groper who reached his hand up the skirt of a woman while heading up set of stairs at the Grand Central subway station, police said.

The 26-year-old victim was using the stairs at the subway station at 42nd Street and Lexington Avenue on June 17, when the suspect came up from behind and grabbed her buttocks from under her dress, police said.

The suspect — who police described as about 25 years old, wearing a red baseball cap, a white T-shirt, blue jeans, black sneakers and a black book bag on his back — fled the area in an unknown direction, authorities said.

Police released photos of the man on June 23.

Anyone with information in regards to this incident is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 800-577-TIPS.
