QUEENS — The Forest Hills Stadium will host Chicago musician and philanthropist Chance the Rapper this fall, concert organizers announced Monday.

The 24-year-old artist will perform at the venue Sept. 26 with Francis and The Lights and DJ Oreo as part of his Be Encouraged Tour.

The rapper, who is a friend of the Obamas, just won the best new artist award at the 2017 BET awards Sunday night.

He was also presented with the humanitarian award after he has raised $2 million dollars for Chicago Public Schools.

Michelle Obama delivered a taped message giving him a shoutout.

"Chance is showing our young people that they matter," she said, adding that she and former President Barack Obama had known him "since he was a baby rapper".

"Because of you, countless young people will grow up believing in themselves," she said in her message.

Earlier this year, Chance won his first Grammy awards — for best new artist, rap album and rap performance.

The rapper, who headlined Governors Ball earlier this month, confirmed his Forest Hills performance via Facebook and Twitter.

John Mellencamp, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers and Interpol are among the artists also scheduled to perform at the stadium this season.

Tickets, which will cost $75, go on sale Monday at 5 p.m. and will be available here. Doors will open at 6 p.m. and the show is scheduled for 7 p.m.
