Nas is back home in Queensbridge.
A new mural of the "Illmatic" rapper appeared this week on the corner of 21st Street and 40th Avenue, just across the street from the Queensbridge Houses where Nas was raised.
The piece, which features a portrait of the hip-hop legend with the word "Queensmatic", was a collaboration between artists Jorit Agoch, Lawrence "Myse" Hosannah Hannah, FCee and Eli Eos, according to Eos.
Nas, whose full name is Nasir Jones, headlined the Brooklyn Hip-Hop Festival in DUMBO this July. He also released a new song this summer for the Netflix series "The Get Down," a Netflix show by director Baz Luhrmann about New York's hip-hop scene in the 1970s.
XXL Magazine first reported on the mural.
