CROWN HEIGHTS — A 21-year-old man was arrested for impersonating a police officer and reckless endangerment after police observed him using flashing lights on his car to speed through red lights and cross the double yellow line on Montgomery Street.
Avraham Teich, 21, was seen speeding down the street at about 10:20 a.m. on June 8 with blue and red lights on the top of his tan 2008 Crown Victoria. As he drove, pedestrians ran out of his way to avoid being hit, police said.
Teich was pulled over and arrested on charges of criminal impersonation of a police officer (a felony) and multiple infractions and misdemeanors including reckless endangerment, fleeing a police officer and failure to obey traffic rules, court records show.
Teich had been arrested a month ago for misuse of an emergency signal device, a misdemeanor, according to court records.
He was released from custody after being charged in the most recent case and is due back in court Aug. 15. His legal representative from the Legal Aid Society could not be reached for comment.

► A 22-year-old was shot in the leg on Franklin Avenue after an argument between the shooter and the victim’s friends. The shooting took place at 2:50 a.m. on June 11 outside 820 Franklin Ave. after the suspect began arguing with the victim’s friend. The suspect — who has not been caught — pulled out a handgun and began shooting. One shot hit the victim in the left leg. He was taken to Kings County Hospital for treatment. Police described the suspect as an approximately 6-foot-tall man wearing a Yankees hat and blue jeans.
► A 46-year-old man was beaten with an iron pipe during an argument over the sale of a pair of sneakers at approximately 9 p.m. on June 12, police said. The man suffered a small cut on his head and was treated at Kings County Hospital. The suspect fled on foot westbound on President Street and has not been identified.
