CHELSEA — A taxi passenger was arrested after officers seeking suspects involved in a reported dispute found he'd hidden a gun under the partition and had heroin in his pocket, the NYPD said.

Police officers pulled the yellow cab over at the southeast corner of West 25th Street and Eighth Avenue around 4:28 a.m. on June 11, a complaint filed with the Manhattan District Attorney’s office said.

The cab fit the description of a vehicle several people hopped into following a dispute that involved a gun, the NYPD said.

After the cab stopped, an officer from the 10th Precinct saw one of its four passengers lean forward and reach under the partition, the complaint said.

When another officer searched the floor, he found a .380 Taurus semiautomatic handgun loaded with six rounds of ammunition, according to the complaint.

The passenger who reached for the gun, 26-year-old Abby Urbina, had two glassines of heroin in his pants pocket, the complaint said.

He was charged with two counts of criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree and one count of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree, prosecutors said. He was released on $7,500 bail and is due back on June 16, according to the DA’s office and city Department of Correction records.

The other passengers inside the cab with Urbina were arrested but didn’t ultimately face charges.

Urbina’s attorney didn’t immediately respond to request for comment Thursday.
