BRONX —  A man was slashed in the face after handing over $1 to a woman who asked for money, police said.

The woman approached the victim as he was walking toward the Forest Houses area near 905 Tinton Ave. at 7:45 p.m. on Wednesday June 7, and asked for some cash, police said.

After the victim handed over $1, the suspect struck up a conversation with him and the two of them walked into the building, police said. They then entered a stairwell on the 16th floor, where the woman's accomplice approached him and demanded he hand over his money and possessions, police said.

The victim started to fight with the suspects, leading the woman to slash him on the left side of the face before fleeing with her accomplice, police said.

Police released a photo of the woman, describing her as having blonde hair, standing 5-foot-5 and last seen wearing a black shirt, dark pants and sandals.

The male suspect was described as having salt-and-pepper hair, standing 5-foot-6 and last seen wearing a multicolored sweatshirt, dark pants and dark-colored shoes, police said.
