QUEENS — The best spots to watch concerts at the Forest Hills Stadium are hidden — and you can't get in without a password.

Four private lounges first opened inside the venue last year, including one where concertgoers enter through a fake Port A Potty.

This year, the organizers have added five new rooms, which are being rented out or used for VIPs, friends of performers and concert organizers, according to Mike Luba of concert promoter Madison House Presents.

Each lounge has a secret entry point and its own special décor, featuring vintage tennis rackets, pictures of tennis stars who played at the stadium decades ago and various items found during the stadium's renovations.

The rooms lead to outdoor porches that are surrounded by hedges and decorated with iron arches, designed based on original drawings of the stadium from the 1920s, Luba said.

The stadium, originally built in 1923, used to host the U.S. Open and hosted numerous concerts in the '70s, including performances by The Rolling Stones, The Beatles and Jimi Hendrix.

In recent years, concert organizers have been modernizing the venue with upgrades such as a grass-covered concourse, new seats and bathrooms, as well as a sound-reduction system installed after complaints from a group of neighbors.

This year's lineup includes Tom Petty and Heartbreakers, Interpol and John Mellencamp, among others.
