12-Year-Old Boy Shot in Ankle During Gang Fight, NYPD Says

BROOKLYN — A 12-year-old boy was shot in the ankle during a gang fight at the Pink Houses Monday night, police said.

The boy, who police said was the intended target, was shot in the ankle outside 2700 Linden Boulevard, near Autumn Avenue, about 10 p.m., an NYPD spokesman said.

The boy was targeted because he was involved in an earlier shooting, police said. He is believed to be in a gang, officials said.

The boy managed to walk back to his home in the housing project where he called an ambulance that brought him to Kings County Hospital, police said.

He's listed in stable condition, police said.

There were no immediate arrests, police said.
