CRIME BLOTTER: 14-Year-Old Fires Gun Outside Burger King

CROWN HEIGHTS — A 14-year-old boy is under arrest after opening fire outside a neighborhood Burger King, police said.

The boy was arrested April 28 for shooting the handgun outside the fast food restaurant at 1727 Bedford Ave. and Sullivan Place in Crown Heights. He did not strike anyone or damage any property, police said.

Police found five spent shells and one full round outside the restaurant after the shooting. The boy was arrested and will be charged as a juvenile, police said.

Other notable crimes in this week’s blotter from the 71st Precinct in Crown Heights, Prospect-Lefferts Gardens and East Flatbush include:​​​​

► A 22-year-old man was arrested for damaging computers and other electronic equipment at a nursing station at Kings County Hospital. The man, Clayton Robinson, was arrested for climbing over the nurse’s desk April 26 at 1:45 p.m. and defacing and damaging printers, scanners and computers. He was arrested and charged with felony criminal mischief, among other charges, court records show.

► A 34-year-old woman was arrested for stealing electronics, hairpieces and eyeglasses from her friend’s apartment. The woman went inside the 28-year-old victim’s apartment when she wasn’t home on April 29 and took an iPhone, MacBook Air, Nikon camera, a pair of eyeglasses and 12 packages of virgin Brazilian hair worth $1,800. The woman was arrested for burglary on the same day.

► A 57-year-old man was arrested for heroin possession after police stopped him for riding his bicycle on the sidewalk. An officer observed him riding on the sidewalk on Crown Street near Franklin Avenue at 6:25 p.m. on April 30. When he was stopped, police discovered he had an open warrant for an earlier criminal mischief case and was in possession for six envelopes of heroin. He has been charged with a misdemeanor charge for criminal possession of a controlled substance, court records show.
