JACKSON HEIGHTS — Police have arrested a man accused of punching an elderly man in the face after saying he was attacking immigrants.

Fabricio Pozo, 50, was arrested early Friday and charged with two counts of assault and harassment, police said.

He is suspected of slapping an 18-year-old woman and then punching 85-year-old William Seifert in the face as he stood under an awning during a rainstorm at 12:50 p.m. on April 12.

Seifert said Pozo asked him if he was American, and when he answered "yes" the suspect yelled "you are attacking immigrants!" before punching him in the face.

"One punch was enough, I went down right away," Seifert told DNAinfo New York.

Sozo is awaiting arraignment and information on his lawyer was not immediately available.

He was arrested June 18, 2016 for assault, and also has two prior sealed arrests, including one for assault, police said.
