Teen Girl Punches Person Getting Interviewed by NYPD, Then Attacks Officer

CROWN HEIGHTS — A 17-year-old girl was arrested for attacking a person being interviewed by police, then turning around and punching the officer, NYPD officials said.

Officers were conducting an investigation on the corner of Nostrand Avenue and Empire Boulevard at 4:20 p.m. on April 5, when the teenager came up from behind police and punched their interview subject five times in the face.

When police tried stopping the teen, she hit one of the officers in the face. She was arrested and charged with assault of an officer and resisting arrest, court records show.

It's unclear if she knew the victim, who was unidentified by police, and unknown what provoked the assault.
