QUEENS — Queens District Attorney Richard Brown is recovering after a heart-valve procedure on Monday, his office said.

The minimally invasive surgery was performed at New York University Langone Medical Center by the head of the hospital's structural and heart valve program, Dr. Mathew R. Williams.

Brown, 84, had quadruple-bypass surgery in 1998 and has remained under his cardiologist's care for routine checkups, the DA's office said.

He's expected to be released in the next few days and will return as soon as he can, spokesman Kevin Ryan said.
