ELMHURST — Eat your way through one of the most delicious neighborhoods in Queens during a week-long restaurant event.

Councilman Danny Dromm, with support from First American International Bank, is sponsoring "Eat Elmhurst," a week-long celebration that kicks off April 22.

More than a dozen restaurants will offer discounts and deals to highlight the varied and authentic cuisine in Elmhurst.

"Elmhurst is a culinary paradise," Dromm, who hosted the first Eat Elmhurst in 2011, said. "It goes through the whole gamut of Asian countries, languages, cultures and customs — and we have it all here in Elmhurst."

Restaurants will offer a variety of specials — from a 10 percent discount on all orders at Asian Taste 86 on Whitney Avenue, to a free lobster when you order $50 or more at RuYi Seafood on Broadway.

Nineteen restaurants have already signed on, with more likely to join before the week, Dromm said.

"The idea is to promote these restaurants and open up people's minds to all the cuisines that exist in one of the fastest growing Asian communities in New York City," he said.
