17-Year-Old Girl Sexually Assaulted by 7 Boys at Brooklyn School: Sources

BROOKLYN — A 17-year-old girl was sexually assaulted inside a bathroom at Brownsville school, according to the NYPD and sources.

The girl was pushed by a male student into a boy’s bathroom at P.S. 165 at 76 Lott Ave. Monday morning where six other boys were waiting, according to police sources. The boys then intimidated her into performing a sexual act on several of the students, sources said.

Afterward, the girl ran out of the bathroom crying hysterically and another person reported the incident to school officials, who called the police.

Authorities arrested a 15-year-old boy and 14-year-old boy at the school, police said.

The 15-year-old was charged as a juvenile with sex abuse, forcible touching and unlawful imprisonment, according to police.

The 14-year-old was also charged as a juvenile with sex abuse and forcible touching.

The girl refused medical attention at the scene after her mother arrived, sources said.

Department of Education officials called the incident “deeply troubling” and said they were working with the NYPD as they conducted an investigation.

“Nothing is more important than the safety of students and staff, and we’re ensuring that it is swiftly addressed,” DOE spokeswoman Toya Holness said in a statement. “This was immediately reported, families have been notified and we are providing the school with additional supports.”
